GH elisa kit product blogThe Human GH n/a (Catalog #MBS355267) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS355267 ELISA Kit recognizes Human (General) GH. MyBioSource\'s Growth Hormone / GH can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Quantitative sELISA (EIA).
For quantitative detection of GH in human serum, plasma, body fluids, tissue lysates or cell culture supernatants. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GH n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The GH n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #545073) (NCBI Accession #AAC60745.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only)
Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-GH polyclonal antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-GH polyclonal antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the GH amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of GH can be calculated.
Background: Growth hormone (GH) is a peptide hormone that stimulates growth, cell reproduction and regeneration in humans and other animals. It is synthesized by acidophilic or somatotropic cells of the anterior pituitary gland. Human growth hormone has a molecular mass of 22,005 and contains 191 amino acid residues with 2 disulfide bridges. Growth hormone is used as a prescription drug in medicine to treat children\'s growth disorders and adult growth hormone deficiency. In its role as an anabolic agent, HGH has been abused by competitors in sports since the 1970s, and it has been banned by the IOC and NCAA.
Assay Type: Sandwich
Detection Range: 15.6 pg/ml-1000 pg/ml
Sensitivity: < 2pg/ml. Growth Hormone / GH Human ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit.
