Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only)
Product Information: TGF-beta 1 (mouse) ELISA Kit: Colorimetric Assay for Quantitative measurement of mouse TGF-beta 1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants & urine. Detection Range: 15.6 pg/ml - 1000 pg/ml. 100 assays.
Background: TGF-beta1 is a multifunctional cytokine involved in cell growth, differentiation and inflammatory pathways. MyBioSource\'s mouse TGF-beta1 ELISA Kit is based on the standard principle of a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. A rat monoclonal antibody specific for mouse TGF-beta1 is coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and TGF-beta1 present in a sample is bound by the immobilized antibody. A biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat specific for TGF-beta1 is added subsequently. After washing away the unbound biotinylated antibody with PBS or TBS buffer, avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex is added to the wells. The wells are again washed with PBS or TBS buffer to remove the unbound conjugates. HRP substrate TMB is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB is catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue product that changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow color is proportional to the mouse TGF-beta1 captured onto the plate. This ELISA kit shows <1% cross-reactivity with TGF-beta2, TGF-beta3 and TGF-beta5. Detection Range: 15.6 pg/ml - 1000 pg/ml. Sensitivity: < 2 pg/ml.

TGF-beta1 (mouse) ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit.
