The Human ORM orm1 (Catalog #MBS724330) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS724330 ELISA Kit recognizes Human (General) ORM.

The ORM orm1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #219519923) (NCBI Accession #AAI43315.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

(Or you can also download the PDF Manual for complete product instructions).

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given elisa kit. We\'ve tested the Human Orosomucoid ELISA Kit with the following immunoassay(s):
Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only)
Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only) ORM.

Principle of the Assay: ORM ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for ORM. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and ORM if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of ORM present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) -conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for ORM are added to each well to "sandwich" the ORM immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain ORM and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ORM concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type: Competitive or Sandwich
Detection Range: 50-1000pg/mL
Sensitivity: 1.0pg/mL. Intended Uses: This ORM ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human ORM. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!. Human Orosomucoid ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit. ORM also interacts with the following gene(s): AHSG, AMBP, APOH, ORM2, ORMDL1, ORMDL2, ORMDL3.
