The Human LEPR lepr (Catalog #MBS824988) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS824988 ELISA Kit recognizes Human LEPR. MyBioSource\'s CD295 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Sandwich ELISA (SE). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LEPR lepr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The LEPR lepr product has the following accession number(s) (GI #51093379) (NCBI Accession #NP_001003679.1) (Uniprot Accession #P48357). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Typical Standard Curve/Testing Data
Principle of the Assay: Human CD295 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human CD295 in Cell Culture Supernatants, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human CD295 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CD295 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human CD295 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD295 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
Background/Introduction: Leptin receptor (or Obese receptor, OBR) is a single membrane-spanning receptor most related to the gp130 signal-transducing component of the IL-6 receptor, the G-CSF receptor, and the LIF receptor. OB-R mRNA is expressed not only in choroid plexus, but also in several other tissues, including hypothalamus. Leptin acts through the leptin receptor, a single-transmembrane domain receptor of the cytokine-receptor family. Leptin controls energy balance and food intake through the leptin receptor in the hypothalamus of the brain, which suggests that some polymorphisms of the leptin receptor gene (LEPR) might contribute to obesity or obesity-related diseases. Leptin is also involved in the regulation of blood pressure through the leptin receptor.
Samples: Serum, plasma
Sensitivity: Typically less than 20 pg/ml. Human CD295 ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit.
