The Mouse IL-1alpha il1a (Catalog #MBS355407) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS355407 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse IL-1alpha. MyBioSource\'s IL-1alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Quantitative sELISA (EIA).For quantitative detection of IL-1α in mouse serum, body fluids, tissue lysates or cell culture supernates. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-1alpha il1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The IL-1alpha il1a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #27894330) (NCBI Accession #NP_000566.3) (Uniprot Accession #P01583). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only)
Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-IL-1alpha polyclonal antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-IL-1alpha polyclonal antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the IL-1alpha amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of IL-1alpha can be calculated.
Background: Interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1alpha) is a protein of the interleukin-1 family that in humans is encoded by the IL1A gene which spans 10.2 kb and has 7 exons. It is 1 of 2 structurally distinct forms of IL1, the other being IL1B, this two proteins are synthesized by a variety of cell types, including activated macrophages, keratinocytes, stimulated B lymphocytes, and fibroblasts, and are potent mediators of inflammation and immunity. IL1A may play a role in the genesis of inflammation by augmenting the transcription of proinflammatory genes, a mechanism not affected by extracellular inhibitors. IL1A has been administered to patients during receiving autologous bone marrow transplantation.
