Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only) (Mouse GDF5 PicoKine ELISA Kit standard curve )
Principle of the Assay: Mouse GDF5 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for GDF5 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: E.coli; Immunogen sequence: A376-R495) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for GDF5 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin- Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Mouse GDF5 amount of sample captured in plate.
Background/Introduction: Growth/differentiation factor 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GDF5 gene. GDF5 is a protein belonging to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily that is expressed in the developing central nervous system, and has a role in skeletal and joint development. It also increases the survival of neurones that respond to the neurotransmitter dopamine, and is a potential therapeutic molecule associated with Parkinson\'s disease.
Samples: Cell culture supernates, serum and plasma(heparin, EDTA).
Assay Type: Sandwich
Detection Range: 31.2pg/ml-2000pg/ml
Sensitivity: <10pg/ml. Intra-assay Precision: Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.
Inter-assay Precision: Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested in separate assays to assess inter-assay precision. Mouse GDF5 PicoKine ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit. ACROMESOMELIC DYSPLASIA, HUNTER-THOMPSON TYPE, Brachydactyly type A2, Brachydactyly type C, Congenital Abnormalities, Disease Models, Animal, Fibrosis, Hypertrophy, Inflammation, Necrosis, Osteoarthritis are some of the diseases may be linked to Mouse GDF5 PicoKine ELISA Kit. Brain, Embryonic Tissue, Inner Ear, Joint, Other, Salivary Gland tissues are correlated with this protein. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
