The Canine DEFbeta2 defb2 (Catalog #MBS733986) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS733986 ELISA Kit recognizes Canine (Dog, General) DEFbeta2.

The DEFbeta2 defb2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #80478968) (NCBI Accession #AAI09130.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

For samples: Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate

INTENDED USE This DEFB2 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Canine DEFB2. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY DEFB2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-DEFB2 antibody and an DEFB2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with DEFB2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the DEFB2 concentration since DEFB2 from samples and DEFB2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-DEFB2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by DEFB2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind DEFB2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The DEFB2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type: Competitive
Detection Range: 100-2500pg/mL
Sensitivity: 1.png/mL. Canine Defensin Beta 2 ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit. Fibrosis, Inflammation, Intestinal Diseases, Metaplasia, Necrosis are some of the diseases may be linked to Canine Defensin Beta 2 ELISA Kit.
