The Porcine CD40 n/a (Catalog #MBS756303) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MBS756303 ELISA Kit recognizes Porcine (Pig, Swine, General) CD40.

The CD40 n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #114053977) (NCBI Accession #ABI49511.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given elisa kit. We\'ve tested the Porcine CD40 ELISA Kit with the following immunoassay(s):
Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only)
Typical Testing Data/Standard Curve (for reference only) CD40.

Principle of the assay: CD40 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-CD40 antibody and an CD40-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CD40-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CD40 concentration since CD40 from samples and CD40-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CD40 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CD40 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CD40-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CD40 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

Samples: Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type: Competitive
Sensitivity: 0.1 ng/mL. Porcine CD40 ELISA Kit or ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays) Kits in general, are a valuable research tool for a myriad of applications in a range of scientific settings. Currently, three major types of ELISA formats are used by researchers: sandwich, competitive and indirect. Most commercially available ELISA Kits are sandwich or competitive. Commercially available ELISA Kits contain wells that have been pre-coated with the capture antibody. Please refer to the product manual for the ELISA format of your specific kit.
